CfDP is the Danish partner in the European UP4 Diversity project. The purpose of the project is to promote the active distancing from violence and discrimination against LGBT+ people - both physically and digitally. The project also intends to equip professionals who work with young people with good tools to deal with violence and discrimination against young LGBT+ people.

Professionals, working with young people, can benefit a lot from the conference. Professionals who participate will gain knowledge about and insights into violence and discrimination against LGBT+ people as well as first-hand stories about the challenges you may face as an LGBT+ person. Furthermore, you can gain insight into initiatives launched elsewhere in Europe. It is also possible to network with other professionals who also work with young people and who meet young LGBT+ people in their work life.

The European UP4Diversity conference is held on September 9th, 2021. It is a free virtual international Conference to strengthen a Europe-wide network of professionals working with youth on LGBTQI+ issues. It is an open call for any individual or organization interested in the Up4Diversity project.

The conference will be particularly addressed to final stakeholders, professionals in the area of gender, LGBTIQ+ issues and youth, social agents and policy makers. Scientific community is also welcomed. The project’s training materials for youth professionals to foster upstander zero-violence educational environments will be presented. The conference will be carried out in English, with the possibility of simultaneous translation to the official languages of the project on the main keynotes.

As a result of this meeting, dialogic spaces will be fostered in order to promote the exchange of successful practices in the empowerment of youth to become active upstanders, as well as social media initiatives that effectively contribute to the prevention and eradication of violence against LGBTIQ+ youth.
